Yobe Gov bags traditional title in Machina

A four-day Machina Annual Cultural Festival (MACUF) has ended in Machina, Yobe state with conferment of Governor Ibrahim Gaidam with traditional title of Shettima Mafatihuma of Machina.

Presenting the letter to the governor on Sunday, His Royal Highness, the Mai Machina, Bashir Albishir Bukar (OON), said the traditional title was given to the governor for constructing Nguru-Machina road and provision of portal drinking water to the emirate.

The royal father, further said the annual festival is organized to strengthen the cultural heritage of the people and also bring unity among the habitants of the emirate.

In his remarks, governor Gaidam thanked Mai Machina for the title, saying culture has been a strongest pillar that unites communities.

Activities to mark the event include horse race, one leg wrestling and local wrestling, where Yahaya Audu of Machina Dole was crowned champion and got the sum of N100,000.00

The event witnessed personalities from Benin, chad, Niger republics and traditional rulers across Nigeria.
