Gombe: Yahaya steps up efforts to overhaul federal roads 

In a bid to accelerate the overhaul of crucial federal road networks, Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe state has intensified the push for federal government intervention.

This was contained in a press statement signed by the Director-General Press Affairs, Government House, Mr. Ismaila Uba Misilli, made available to newsmen in Gombe on Monday.

Mr. Uba Misilli said the governor met with the Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi in Abuja to discuss the pressing infrastructure challenges facing Gombe and its neighbouring states.

“The key routes such as Gombe-Bauchi, Gombe-Dukku-Darazo, Gombe-Biu, and Gombe-Bajoga-Potiskum are at the forefront of these discussions, deemed vital for regional development and national connectivity.

He emphasised that enhancing these roads is paramount for economic growth and improving citizens’ quality of life, aligning with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“As Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum, Governor Inuwa Yahaya has been a staunch advocate for infrastructure development across the region.

“The forthcoming visit of the Minister of Works to Gombe State underscores the collaborative efforts between federal and state governments to implement critical infrastructure projects nationwide,” he said.
