Gombe state government has restated its commitment to embracing Information Technology as panacea to curbing 21st century challenges and socio- economic development
The deputy governor, Dr Manassah Daniel Jatau, made this known at the Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF) meeting Wednesday at NGF’s secretariat in Abuja
The deputy governor, who represented Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, stated that because the government is aware of the role of ICT in this century in creating jobs to the teeming youths and boosting the economy of the state , has keyed into federal government’s programme on Information Communication Technology.
He recalled the recent National Council on Communication and Digital Economy hosted by Gombe state, pointing out that it is a step towards harnessing potentials embedded in the sector
Speaking on the recent outbreak of Lasser fever in some parts of the country, the deputy governor said the administration has taken adequate proactive measures towards prevention of its outbreak in the state
He stated that the state Ministry of Health is already on red alert, but noted that people must be ready to play their own role by living hygienic lives and avoiding rats and dirty environment as a preventive measure.
He also called on the people in the state to report suspicious cases to the relevant medical authorities for prompt action, so as to rid the state of any outbreak of the dreaded disease
