The Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of ournalists (NUJ) Gombe has received the news of the passing away of one of its members and friend, Mr. Mike Ogbu.
Until his death, he was the Gombe state correspondent of the Daily Independent newspapers.
His wife, Mrs. Nkagozika Ogbu, who confirmed the news of the death, said he died at the age of 48 in the early hours of yesterday in his home town, Ogbefia in Ogbunam local government area of Enugu state after a protracted illness.
He is survived by a wife, five children.
Ogbu had been with the Gombe state Correspondents’ Chapel for over 10 years before his death.
In the mean time, a condolence register has been opened at the Secretariat of the Correspondents’ Chapel, Gombe, and burial arrangement would be announced by the family in due course.
