The remains of the wife of former Gombe state governor and senator representing Gombe Central, Hajiya Fatima Yelwa Goje, has been laid to rest in the state.
The news of the death of Hajiya Fatima Yelwa Danjuma Goje filtered into the country on the 30th October while receiving treatment at a hospital in the United States of America.
Her corpse arrived Gombe yesterday around 11:00 am and was buried according to Islamic injunctions by 2:00pm living her husband six children and 10 grand children
Some street beggars who speak with our correspondent during the funeral prayer at Moddibo Buba Yoro Central Mosque, Gombe, said they were the worst hit by the demise of former Gombe state first lady.
According to one wheel chaired beggar, Mallam Ibraahim Gurama, the beggars were crying their hearts out following her philanthropic gestures to people with disability, adding that they felt more bereaved because of her closeness with them.
“When we heard the news it really shocked us and we are saddened by her exit. Though no one can question Allah for her demise because He gives and He takes. We pray for the repose of her soul and for Allah to reward her with aljannatul Firdausi,” Ibrahim stated in tears.
President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, Governor Hassan Dankwambo, FCT Minister, Muhammad Bello, Minister of state for Power, Suleman Hassan Jara and other prominent personalities were among those at Goje’s wife’s burial.
