Ghana has ushered in a new chapter of its democratic history with the election of NDC’s Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang as the country’s first female Vice President-elect.
She will serve alongside President-elect John Dramani Mahama, following the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s victory in the 2024 elections.
Her groundbreaking achievement marks a monumental step forward for gender representation in Ghanaian politics and has been celebrated as an inspiration for women and girls across the nation and the African continent.
Recall that John Dramani Mahama won the country’s presidential election while the main opponent, Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia has conceded defeat.
