General, veterinary expert receive SAMOBA awards

Director of Peace Operations, Defence Headquarters, Maj.-Gen. Abba Mohammed Dikko, and Prof. Nuhu Bala Adamu, of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Maiduguri, have been presented with the Distinguished Fellow Awards by the Sardauna Memorial College Old Boys Association (SAMOBA), the 1982 Set.
The ceremony, which took place at the College premises in Kaduna on Sunday, brought together most the year 82 set members who celebrated the 40th anniversary of their admission into the college.
Chairman of Kaduna Electric, Barrister Yusuf Hamisu Abubakar, who is also the Chairman of the year 82 group, described the awardees as “quintessential gentlemen and worthy ambassadors of their Alma Mater.”
Abubakar also paid glowing tribute to other members of the year 1982 group for their invaluable and positive contributions to the society.
He called on members of the year 1982 group and all old boys of Sardauna Memorial College to support their alma mater “so that it will continue to remain the pride of all SAMOBAs and the generation unborn.”
“The experiences of that formative period have helped in shaping our lives and in making us what we are today,” he said.
Earlier, the Principal of the College, Alhaji Muhammad Sunusi-Sidi, commended the untiring efforts and support being given to the College by the old boys.
