Senator Mustapha Sani Mohammed has described late Brigadier-General Jibrin Tanko Abubakar as “a good ambassador of Niger state.”
Mustapha, who stated this in condolence message sent from his media office in Abuja, commiserated with former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar, his family, Niger state government and the Nigerian Army.
He said: “I am deeply saddened by the passing away of one of the great sons of Niger state. It is a great loss. Brigadier-General Jibrin Tanko Abubakar was deeply religious, amiable, friendly, jovial gentleman officer who dedicated over three decades in service of fatherland.
“He had unblemished career. He was a good ambassador of Niger state who kept faith with his primary constituency, Nigerian Army and his home state, Niger state.
“On behalf of myself, my family and entire people of Niger south senatorial district, I condole former Head of state, General Abdulsalami Abubakar, his family, Niger state government, Niger state and Nigerian Army over this irreparable lost. I pray Allah to forgive him his sins and grant him Aljana fidausi.”
Blueprint reports that the Late Brigadier General Jibrin Tanko Abubakar who died in Abuja after a brief illness, was an Infantry officer and held various staff, command and training appointments in his over three decades in the Nigerian Army.
Until his death, he was a Director at Nigerian Army Headquarters.
He is survived by one wife and three children.
