Former Borno state commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, Alhaji Baba Kaka Bashir Garbai has finally declared his intention to contest the October 2015 Borno central senatorial district bye election under All Progressives Congress (APC).
Kaka, who was received at the APC state secretariat along by the APC state chairman, Alhaji Ali Bukar Dalori, House of Representatives member representing Maiduguri Metropolitan Council Federal Constituency, Hon Kadiri Rahis and other party executives and stakeholders said his willingness and intention to run for the election was informed by the fact that he wants to contribute his own quota for the development and progress of the state from the national level as a senator, having successfully served the state and contributed immensely to the overall development of the state.
He also added that he had served the country at the National level as a Director with the National Investment Promotion Council NIPC before serving the state meritoriously.
Kaka noted that he is much suitable, qualified and competent for the position as well possess the experience to legislate property and effectively at the Senate towards addressing the problem of Borno central and Borno state in general.
He further assured the people that he will not fail or disappoint the confidence and trust people have on him.
The state party chairman, Ali Dalori, said Garbai was the right choice for the people and called on the supporters and Members of party to vote for him and the party while expressing confidence in him that he will win the Election and contribute positively to the state.
He called on the APC supporters and Members to rally round him to succeed in the Election noting that with the nomination of Baba Kaka Bashir Garbai as the APC candidate for the Bye Election, Borno central Senatorial district has decided and spoken while APC as a party is fully behind him and supports his ambition.
The State APC Women leader, Hajiya Fati Kakinna, also said Kaka Garbai was the popular and acceptable candidate that can deliver and give the oppositions a great defeat or fight in the forthcoming Bye election.
She assured Garbai of her full support and pledged to mobilise all the women in the senatorial district to vote for the party and him.
