FWF to Tinubu: Address plight of federal workers

The Federal Workers Forum (FWF) on Tuesday asked President Bola Tinubu to personally intervene in the plight of the federal workers in the country.

FWF stated this alarm in a communiqué issued at the end of an online meeting of the Workers Forum signed by its national coordinator, Comrade Andrew Emelieze.

The Federal Workers Forum in the communiqué stressed that there is the need for President Tinubu’s immediate attention, saying,”federal government workers are starving, almost everyone is on loan to survive the day.

” Mr President Sir, we are calling for your immediate attention, federal government workers are starving, almost everyone is on loan to survive the day,our take home hardly survives us for a week. We therefore urge you to personally intervene in the plight of the federal workers.

“We urge you to reevaluate the so called new national minimum wage of ₦70, 000 , this to us is ridiculous and should be a national embarrassment and a disgrace. Federal government workers have been financially embarrassed. We therefore reject ₦40,000 added to our monthly take home as the new national minimum wage.

“We the federal workers are writing you. We hope this letter meet you well. May be you have not been properly fed with the true pictures of the real situation in Nigeria. As federal government workers, we also serve as intermediary between government and the people.”

According to the communiqué copied the Senate President, Chief Justice of the Federation, Speaker National Assembly, Vice President (FGN) and others, the “tough and hard policies” have brought untold hardship on the Nigerian people.”
