Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr Olusegun Aganga, has disclosed that whatever it would take to revive Ajaokuta steel company to enable it take off could never be a waste.
Aganga disclosed this yesterday in Ajaokuta during the working visit of the minister and his counterpart at the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development, Arc Musa Muhammed Sada, to the complex to have first hand information on the level of completion of the plant.
He said the federal government was desirous of completing the plant to achieve the industrialisation of the country and to create jobs for the citizenry.
Aganga, who was optimistic that the company would soon start operation, urged the management and staff of the complex to remain resolute and be committed to duty, saying that government “alone cannot provide the needed ingredients to put the rolling mill functioning.”
Earlier, the Sole Administrator of the company, Engr. Isah Joseph Onobere, said there had been several misconceptions about the complex, adding that it was borne out of ignorance, misinformation and campaign of calumny against the country.
