The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) has said it sealed four additional filling stations in Sokoto and Kebbi states, for various some offences, according to Sokoto Zonal Operations Controller, Alhaji Mohammed Makera.
Makera told newsmen in Sokoto yesterday that their offences were selling above the pump price of N 145 per litre and alleged diversion.
The controller said one independent filling station was sealed in Sokoto for selling above pump price and the sale of the product at N 145 per litre was enforced by the officials of the department.
In the same vein, three filling stations were sealed for alleged diversion of petrol, with two affected in Sokoto state and one in Kebbi.
One of them owned by a major marketer had since been reopened after it was forced to return the truck laden with the fuel.
The controller further explained that, the sale of the product at the government approved pump price of N145 per litre was currently being enforced at the station by the officials of the department.
Makera pledged that officials of the department would sustain their 24-hour routine operations and raids in the two states, to ensure that motorists were not cheated by the marketers.
It could be recalled that the department had penultimate week sealed six major and independent filling stations in the two states, for similar offences.
