Forum hails Economist, Uneze at 50

South East Professionals Forum has hailed a Nigerian economist and academic, Dr. Eberechukwu Uneze as he marks his 50th birthday .

Dr. Uneze’s journey from Imo state University to prestigious global institutions such as Yale, Columbia, and Oxford exemplifies the pinnacle of academic and professional excellence.

On behalf of the forum, Ik Ogbonna described Dr. Eberechukwu Uneze who hails from Amakohia Ubi, Owerri West LGA, Imo state, as a paragon of intellectual and professional accomplishments.

He said Dr. Uneze’s impressive career spans academia, banking, consultancy, and public service. He began as a Banking Trainee at United Bank for Africa Plc, later serving in significant roles including Director of Research at the Centre for the Study of the Economies of Africa, Senior Lecturer at Baze University, Board Member at Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON), and Non-Executive Director at Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC).

According to him, Dr Uneze has provided consultancy services to notable organizations such as: Overseas Development Institute (ODI) and DFID
Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Performance, Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission, Nigeria, National Universities Commission, Nigeria and Nigerian Economic Summit Group.

Dr Uneze was the former Board Member at Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON).

He said Dr. Uneze’s professional training includes programs at Lagos Business School, Institute of Directors (IOD), London, and The Evaluators’ Institute at George Washington University.

According to the forum, Dr. Eberechukwu Uneze’s journey is a beacon of inspiration. His dedication to knowledge, leadership, and service underscores the potential for greatness through hard work, resilience, and passion.
