Former Kogi dep gov joins fraud investigators CIFCFIN 

A former deputy governor of Kogi state, Dr Phillips Salawu, has been inducted into the Chartered Institute of Forensics and Certified Fraud Investigators of Nigeria (CIFCFIN).

The induction took place weekend after a graduation ceremony from the institute at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) school, Abuja.

CIFCFIN is the body statutorily empowered to fight corruption through its members investigating, detecting and preventing frauds and irregularities in the public and private sectors of the economy.

Salawu was the pioneer national director of finance of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from 1998 to 2002 before he later became the deputy governor of Kogi state between 2003 and 2012.

He is a financial technocrat, chartered corporate accountant, chartered public finance accountant, a chartered banker, chartered stock-broker, chartered tax consultant, chartered mediator and conciliator, certified forensic auditor and lawyer.

He is also a contender for the national chairmanship seat of PDP following the exit of Dr Iyorchia Ayu.
