A former Chief of Defence Staff Admiral Ibrahim Ogohi is dead.
Director Defence Information Brigadier General Tukur Gusau disclosed in a statement in Anuja on Sunday.
Ogohi was appointed Defence chief by President Olusegun Obasanjo and served from 1999 to 2023.
“With deep sorrow, I announced the death of Admiral Ibrahim Ogohi (rtd), a former Chief of Defence Staff (1999-2003).
“He passed on in Abuja in the early hours of today. More details will be communicated later.”
