FG’s CCT enrollment begins in Delta

In line with the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the enrollment of beneficiaries of the Conditional Cash Transfer Programme, a National Social Safety Net Project Scale-Up (NASSP-SU), has begun in Delta state.

No fewer than 76,020 households are expected to be enrolled in the 25 LGAs of the state to qualify them for the initiative.

Its national programme manager, Dr. Michael Ajuluchuku, said the enrollment targets 67,437 beneficiaries from the National Social Register (NSR) and an additional 8,583 beneficiaries from the Rapid Response Register (RRR).

Ajuluchukwu also said the enrollment “is actively on-going in all the 25 LGAs and in 214 wards in 1,131 communities across the state, with trained facilitators already in the wards for biometric capturing of beneficiaries.

In her remarks, the state’s programme manager, Mrs. Patience Osharode, urged beneficiaries to provide their National Identification Numbers (NIN) during the enrollment process to meet the eligibility criteria for opening bank accounts, in fulfilment of the recent Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) directives.

Mrs. Osharode advised those who had yet to register for NIN to “do so as all beneficiaries will be paid through their bank accounts.”

According to her, those with existing bank accounts will be paid through their accounts, while new accounts will be opened by the programme “for those that do not have accounts, to ensure that all beneficiaries are financially included through the programme.”

Each beneficiary will receive ₦25,000 per circle, for three payment circles, culminating in total financial support of ₦75,000 only.

Mrs. Osharode said further that the office of the Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer and the local government was open for “any complaints or grievances that may arise from individuals during the enrollment process.”

Blueprint reports that the enrollment exercise, which began last week, will last for 10 days.
