FG urged to contain MASSOB, IPOB

 

Pioneer Grand Khadi of Kwara state, Justice Abdulkadir Ori (retd), has tasked the federal government to address the issues of IPOB and MASSOB in the South-east ‘‘before it degeneration to undesirable and uncontrollable levels’’.

He also asked the federal government to fix the problems in the  power sector, which he said, had worsened unemployment situation in the country.

The retired jurist, who is the chairman, National Hijrah Ummatula Islamiyyah, spoke at the celebration of the 1439 Hijrah held at the Ilorin stadium complex.

Orire, while noting that the insecurity challenges in the country had contributed adversely to non-industrialisation and youth unemployment, said: ‘‘there is the need for the federal government to swiftly confront the Boko Haram”.

‘‘Insecurity is the greatest impediment to industrialization and growth of other investment which has contributed greatly to unemployment of our youths.

“To ameliorate the situation, there is the need to swiftly confront the Boko Haram insurgent headlong, bring back the remaining Chibok girls and others from captivity.

 

Likewise, the Niger Delta militants and kidnapping should not be treated with kid gloves .The military and para-military forces should be fortified with and motivated to enhance adequate security of the lives and  property of all Nigerians  and other  nationals resident in Nigeria .

The issues of IPOB and MASSOB in the south east must be seriously attended to before its degeneration to undesirable and uncontrollable levels’’, he said.

Also in his speech at the event, the incumbent Grand Khadi of the state, Justice Ola Mohammed, corroborated the position of the Sarkin Malamai on the alarming spate of ritual killings and selling of human parts in the state.

He charged Islamic preachers in the state to always preach against such devilish acts in the society.

Their views were also backed by the National Missioner of Ansarul Islam Society of Nigeria, Alhaji Abdulmumen Ayara during his lecture at the event which was attended by the emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari.
