FG reiterates commitment to train job-creator youth

To reduce youth unemployment, the federal government weekend reiterated its commitment to formulating policies aimed at effectively training youth to become job creators rather than job seekers.

The director of Enterprise Development and Promotion, Federal Ministry of Youth Development, Prince Olugbenga Momoh, gave an assurance at the closing of a two-week training workshop held at the National Youth Development Centre,  Ode Omu, Osun state on how to generate, design, and write a bankable business plan for youth entrepreneurs.

He stated that the federal government has identified unemployment as a major problem confronting the nation’s youth, adding that the ability of an entrepreneur to generate and write a bankable business plan is a critical skill in today’s competitive business environment.

“It is not just about starting a business, it is also about formulating smart goals and objectives when developing a business plan,” he added.

Mr. Momoh  stated that a well-structured business plan not only supports an entrepreneurial journey, but also attracts potential investors and secures funding.

In a press statement signed by the director of information and public relations of the ministry, Omolara Esan said the director praised the participants for their active engagement and dedication throughout the period, adding that the knowledge and skills they gained are essential building blocks for business success.

The programme coordinator, Itohan Odigwe, in her remarks stated that the youth had been taught how to create business plans that are attractive to financial institutions.
