FG launches key initiatives to boost Gombe’s transport infrastructure

In a landmark move aimed at revolutionising Gombe state’s transport sector, the federal government has established a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) conversion centre in Gombe.

Minister of Transport, Sen. Ahmad Alkali, stated this while speaking during the commissioning of Gombe Maga Motor Park, named after Sen. Ibrahim Dankwambo in Gombe.

“This strategic initiative will be facilitated by the Director General (DG) of the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT), who I instructed to collaborate closely with the Gombe state government to ensure the project’s immediate commencement,” the minister said.

He added that the NITT Outreach Centre would enhance the region’s transportation training and development capabilities.

He has also directed the vice chancellor of the Federal University of Transportation, Daura, to form a strategic partnership with Gombe State University that aims to create a sustainable platform for visiting lecturers and the exchange of learning opportunities, fostering academic and practical growth in the transportation field.

The Mega Motor Park is poised to become a cornerstone of Gombe’s infrastructural master plan, demonstrating innovative solutions to the state’s transportation challenges.
