FG inaugurates committee for Alex Ekwueme’s burial

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, has inaugurated a committee that would oversee the burial arrangement of the late former Vice President, Dr. Alex Ekwueme, who died in a London Hospital on November 19, 2017 at the age of 85.
The committee, chaired by the SGF himself, has Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola; Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed; Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun; and the Minister of Labour and Employment, Mr. Chris N. Ngige, as members.
Other members are Mr. Ibrahim Idris, Malam Lawal Musa Daura, Pastor Goodheart Obi Ekwueme, Professor Osita Chukwulobelu (Secretary to the State Government, Anambra), and the Permanent Secretary (General Services Office), Dr. Roy Ugo, as secretary.
Speaking at the inauguration of the committee, the SGF said the deceased was a great personality who have served his fatherland meritoriously, and assured that he would be given a befitting state burial.
He said the federal government would foot the burial bill and the evacuation of the body from London hospital.
