Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, while reviewing some of the on- going projects in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) at the weekend, has said that not less than 10 “people-oriented projects” had been completed in Abuja by President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration.
The minister said one of such projects was the multi-billion-naira Phases III & IV (20,000m/hour), Lower Usuma Dam water treatment plants completed to address and improve the quality and quantity of water supplied to the Federal Capital City and its environs.
Also completed by the federal government through the FCT administration are the provisions of infrastructure to Katampe District Extension; upgrading of existing engineering infrastructure to Apo/Garki Resettlement Village, Abuja (Lot II-Water supply) as well as upgrading of existing engineering infrastructure to Apo/Garki Resettlement Village, Abuja (Lot I-Road Works).
According to him, the administration has also completed the construction of Flyover Bridge at Mogadishu Cantonment, in addition to the design of engineering infrastructure and production of Tender documents to Kyami District.
The minister added that FCT administration has also completed the provision of engineering infrastructure to Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) quarters in Wuse II; access road/water supply to Federal Ministry of Works and Housing Estate.
The minister added that the construction of primary infrastructure to National Assembly Owner Occupier Housing Scheme at Dape District, as well as supply and installation of Laser Automated Burglary Alarm System at Gudu District, had also been completed in the Federal Capital Territory.
