A Nigerian who had contact with an Italian who imported the dreaded coronavirus to Nigeria has tested positive to the ailment.
Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire stated this at a media briefing held at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), Benin City, Edo state.
Ehanire said that the new patient tested positive on March 8, after two weeks of close being quarantined.
He stated that, “40 persons in Ogun state and 20 others in Lagos state who had contact with the Italian are currently being isolated and quarantined.”
The minister further said that the sum of N1 billion has been committed to monitoring and preventing the disease in Nigeria.
