FG adopts drones to reduce costs, enhance safety in Aerospace industry 

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo has affirmed that NavAid drones in the Aerospace industry will reduce costs and pave way for more suitable future .

The NavAid drones represent the new frontier in Aerospace tools that enhance safety, amongst other benefits.

The Minister who was represented by the Director of Safety of the ministry, Chukwu Michael at the One day workshop on NavAid Drone: Advancement in Air navigation and safety with technical partners of Livia Soft and Colibrex company said the adoption of advanced navigation and air safety technologies align with several priority areas under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration in Nigeria. 

He said these priorities, typically focus on economic growth, infrastructure development, security and technology advancement. 

According to him, the workshop is designed to provide participants with deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities in air navigation, and how the integration of advanced drone technology is transforming the industry. 

Also, the Managing Director/Chief Executive of Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Engr. Farouk Ahmed Umar said the passengers, crew and crafts as well as the seamless operation of our airspace are paramount to maintaining Nigeria’s position as leaders in Africa’s aviation industry.

He said : “As we move forward, collaboration between government, industry stakeholders and technology providers will be essential to ensure the successful implementation of NavAid drone technology”.

Also, the President/Software Engineer of LiviaSoft, Dr. Bobga Danjuma said the reason why we are having this here is for Africa to be able to deploy and to provide that baseline, so that we are able to navigate our airport and the runways without using the craft all the time, because it’s more expensive.
