Festrut Group of Companies, a leading indigenous real estate and construction company, marks its 15th anniversary, celebrating its remarkable journey from humble beginnings to becoming a major player in Nigeria’s real estate and construction sector.
Reflecting on the company’s journey so far , the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company, Prof. Festus Uwakhemen, said the last fifteen years was challenging but the company has remained resilient, making giant strides in the real estate sector.
He said: “We have fought a lot of battles. For over seven years we were just fighting court cases. It was from one battle to the other.
“It was a battle I fought from 2014 to 2020. Festrut started in 2010. From 2010 to 2013 we made tremendous progress but from 2014 to 2020 it was alot of battles.”
He commended his staff for their steadfastness and standing with the organization during difficult times.
He restated the commitment of the company in providing affordable accommodation for Nigerians from different strata of the society.
Speaking at the milestone event, the managing director, Shola Peters, highlighted the company’s growth, challenges, and future aspirations. Founded officially in 2010, Festrust has expanded beyond real estate into construction, project management, transportation, oil and gas, and philanthropy through its foundation.
She said despite initial hurdles, the company has remained resilient, guided by its commitment to providing affordable housing for low-income earners.
“We started with big dreams, but reality set in. However, by God’s grace, we have moved from zero to hero. Festrust is set to break new ground, not just in Nigeria but globally. Our core focus is the masses—people with little income. That’s why we initiated our project in Orozo, Nasarawa State, and we are determined to expand further,” said Peters.
The company’s Chief Operations Manager, Joseph Akpezi, also reflected on Festrut’s journey, emphasizing its resilience and vision.
“Fifteen years in business is no small feat. We have faced challenges, but our ‘never say never’ spirit has kept us strong. Today, we have estates in Abuja and are planning expansions to Port Harcourt, Lagos, and Edo State. Our goal remains the same—providing ‘Shelter for All.’ We are currently developing a 700-plot city in Orozo, which is fast becoming a real estate hub,” Akpezi stated.
Looking ahead, Festrut plans to introduce mortgage options, partnering with federal and private mortgage banks to make home ownership accessible for low-income earners.
With ongoing projects and ambitious plans for expansion, Festrut Group continues to solidify its position as a trusted name in Nigeria’s real estate sector, offering hope and opportunities for all.
