Fed Cup: State FAs warned against default

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has issued warning to all 36 states’ federations and the Federal Capital Territory, not to default on the date for final matches of the state preliminaries of the 2014 Federation Cup.
Some weeks ago, the NFF rolled out the schedule for this year’s competition, making it clear that all states must play their final matches on or before May 4.
Speaking in Abuja on yesterday, head of Federation Cup, Miss Ruth David, said the federation would not tolerate a case of defaulting on the schedule.
“It is important that all states conclude their competitions this weekend and let us have the two representatives for the national finals. We will not have any state saying it has postponed its final matches or shifted some games to a different date.
“This year is quite busy for the federation, with so many programmes within and abroad. We want to keep firmly to the schedule and play the final match on Sunday, August 3, as has been announced,” she said.
