FCTA’ll continue to support the judiciary – Wike

The Minister of Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), Nyesom Wike, has reaffirmed the administration’s commitment  to support the judiciary.

Wike stated this Monday in Abuja at the Court of Appeal Justices Annual End-of-Year Conference, themed “Judicial Introspection.”

The minister said the judiciary cannot work in isolation and requires the collaboration and support of all stakeholders, including the executive and legislative arms of government, the legal profession, and civil society.

He said: “As the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, I reaffirm our commitment to fostering such collaboration and providing the necessary support to ensure that the judiciary functions effectively.

“I assure Your Lordships that the FCT Administration is dedicated to creating an enabling environment for “justice not only to be done but to be seen to be done.” We are open to working closely with the judiciary to identify areas where improvements are necessary and implement solutions that will enhance justice delivery.

“This includes upgrading court facilities, providing modern equipment, and ensuring that the welfare of judicial officers and court staff is prioritised.”

Wike urged the court to continue exploring innovative approaches to justice delivery while expressing the hope that the conference would serve as a platform to discuss the challenges facing the legal profession and the opportunities to harness technology and other tools for the benefit of the judicial system and the public.
