The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has approved the procurement of Microsoft 365 license for its Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS) as part of efforts to digitise the operations of the service.
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) Nyesom Wike has also approved N1.94 billion for the procurement of earth-moving machinery for its Department of Development Control.
Mr Michael Ango, acting executive chairman, FCT-IRS, disclosed this after the FCT Executive Committee meeting chaired by the minister, Mr Wike, in Abuja Wednesday.
Ango said the FCTA was investing significantly in technology to enhance revenue generation and collection.
“So, this is also one of those investments in technology that the FCT is undertaking.The license if procured will enhance our ability to move most of our manual processes into automated processes.
“It will enhance our ability to communicate within our offices,” he said.
The executive chairman added that the move would also reduce the use of paper and ensure better records keeping through the storage of information and documents in the cloud.
He stated further that the license will essentially enhance operations and assist to generate revenue for the development of the FCT under Wike’s leadership.

“Today, we sought the approval for the procurement of some critical earth-moving machines and equipment for the Department of Development Control under AMMC.
“The procurement was in favour of Matrak Nigerian Ltd and was approved by the council with a due period of three weeks,” he said.
Obuah identified the machinery as SEM CAT Wheel Loader (SEM656), CAT Wheel Loader (950 GC), CAT Excavator (320 GX), CAT Excavator (323 GX) and CAT Dozer (D6 GC).
