The Commissioner of Police in charge of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council Elections, CP Foluso Adebanjo, has called residents to be orderly during tomorrow’s re-run elections following the inconclusive elections, weekend, in some area councils.
Adebanjo, in a press statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Anjuguri Manzah, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), reiterated the need for politicians and their supporters to imbibe the virtue of sportsmanship.
He said while commending the residents for their peaceful conduct during Saturday elections, the CP enjoined politicians, and their supporters to be guided by the provisions of the Electoral Act.

The spokesperson further stated that the police boss urged all involved in the elections to eschew violence as the command would not hesitate to deal decisively with anyone or group of persons who engage in acts that are inimical to peace and constitute the violation of the Electoral Act.
Adebanjo also reassured residents that the police would remain neutral and professional and would ensure conducive atmosphere for all to exercise their voting rights.
He also encouraged residents to cooperate with the police and other security agencies by reporting suspicious movements and activities through the FCT Police Command Help lines: 08032003913, 08061581938, 07057337653 and 08028940883.
