FCT Police hunt kidnappers of 5 in Pegi, gives out hot contact numbers


The FCT Police Command has deployed a detachment of personnel and equipment to rescue the five persons kidnapped in the wee hours of Wednesday in a village along Pegi axis of the territory.
Pegi and communities along the axis has been under attack by kidnappers and other hoodlums leading to the loss of lives and property.


The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the command, ASP Yusuf Mariam, in a press statement, Wednesday in Abuja, said the command “urges residents to remain calm, while it intensifies effort to liberate the victims unhurt and reunite them with their family members.”
She said the Commissioner of Police in charge of the FCT, CP Bala Ciroma, has ordered a manhunt to trail and apprehend the fleeing suspects.


The spokesperson further stated that while enjoining residents to be security conscious and promptly report all suspicious movements, the command reiterates its unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property in the FCT.
