Member, House of Representatives-elect for Abuja south constituency in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Hon Zakari Angulu Dobi, has assured the FCT indigenes that their land will not be taking away by government without compensation.
He also said that his representation would place top priority on facilitating the award of scholarship to residents by the FCT administration and promised to deliver dividend of democracy to his people.
Dobi, who is coming to the 8th National Assembly to represent Abaji, Gwagwalada, Kwali and Kuje federal constituency in the FCT (Abuja South) under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) stated this during an interactive session with newsmen in Abuja.
He pledged to work with the elected members in the green chamber of the National Assembly to fight for the creation of a mayoral council in the FCT.
Dobi said that what FCT needed was an executive mayor, who would run for office for a tenured period like governors and the administration should not be appointed by the FG.
“Abuja should also have a legislative council and executive council and still maintain its LG government structure just like London and Washington which is national capitals.
“Abuja should embrace this kind of government, which is the accepted norms all over the world and stop henceforth the illegality that has been left to go on for too long”, Dobi added.
