FCT FA Super 4 League: WACO FC Academy emerges champion

WACO Football Academy defeated Winco Foam FC 4-1 to lift the FCT FA Super 4 trophy at the Area 3 playing ground on Monday evening.

The WACO boys for their efforts pocketed the sum of N200,000 leaving the first runner up with the sum of N100,000 donated by the FA Chairman Mohammed Muktar.

It was indeed a final to behold as Abuja residents turn out in their hundreds to watch the highly explosive final match.

The occasion attracted former National Team coaches like John Obuh and Ladan Bosso. The FCT Sports Director, Chief Dilichukwu Onyeadinma was also in attendance.

It was indeed a first in a kind final match marshaled by current FCT FA Chairman, Muktar and his board members.

WACO FC began the game with all seriousness opening scoring in the 17th minute through their mercurial captain Enock Tanimu. Three minutes later Odama Ebiriku doubled the lead for the enterprising WACO boys to make it 2-0.

In the second half, Winco Foam changed strategy to curtail the midfield dominance of their opponent, but just three minutes into the half, WACO’s Silas John made it three through a header.

In the 55th minute Winco Foam’s Kingsley Chinedu scored a spectacular solo effort to reduce the deficit to 1-3, but it was too little too late.

The free scoring WACO boys rounded up the game in the 67th minute with a fine goal by Peter Agba to make it 4-1.

WACO FC will represent FCT in the Nigeria Nationwide League Division 3 playoff and Aiteo Cup.
