FCT: Abaji chair celebrates one year in office 

The chairman of Abaji area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Honourable Abubakar Umar Abdullahi, weekend celebrated his one year in office with a call to the people of Abaji council to support his administration to achieve his development goal.

Speaking at the ceremony, the chairman expressed happiness to God for keeping him alive and in  good health to pilot the affairs of the people of Abaji area council for the past one year.

He said he is overwhelmed with joy for the support he enjoyed from the good people of Abaji, which ensure peace and unity amongst his people and other ethnic communities in the area.

The chairman lauded the traditional institution in Abaji council for their support for his administration, especially the Ona of Abaji, Alhaji Adamu Baba Yunusa, who is also the chairman, FCT Traditional Council of Chiefs, Abuja.

He described the Ona as a patriotic leader and a blessing from God who always devote his life in serving his subjects, irrespective of tribal or religious affiliation.

Abdullahi who is also the  national chairman of Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON)  in his speech, enumerated his one-year achievements in office which include; renovation of legislative chamber, furnishing of legislative chamber, renovation of vice chairman’s office, drilling of solar borehole at Abaji area police command, purchase of 250KVA generator for Abaji area council secretariat, maintenance of Abaji township road junction, grading of Naharati tsoho tupa, grading of Pandagi nanda pandagi gbako road, rehabilitation/maintenance of existing surface, dressing asphalt overlay of Gbakya – low-cost road, construction of drainage and culvert at township south – east cemetery, purchase and installation of transformer at Yaba community.
