FCE provost threatens expulsion of suspected cultists

Provost of the Federal College of Education (FCE) Obudu, Professor James Ejue, has said he would waste no time in expelling any student caught involved in cultism and other anti-social behaviours.

Professor Ejue stated  this in Obudu, northern Cross River, during the 2019/2020 matriculation ceremony of the institution at the weekend. He stated that students who violate the rules of the institution by belonging to the proscribed association like cult group, or get involved in any form of examination malpractice and other deviant behavior would not only be thrown out of the school but would be handed over to the police for prosecution.

“You must not keep bad associations or be involved in cultism. You must not be involved in examination malpractice of any form as the school authority would not hesitate to show erring students the way out of the institution.

“FCE Obudu is not only given the mandate to produce quality teachers but to produce teachers with ability to mould characters of young persons after completing their programmes. Under my watch, FCE Obudu shall do everything humanly possible to ensure that the institution produces fully baked graduates of National Certificate of Educate (NCE) with high morale standard,” he said.

He stated that the 1,400 matriculating students were offered admission to pursue academic programmes in six schools, adding that one of the conditions the institution spelt out boldly before offering students admission was that they would not join bad associations or keep bad company.
The provost reeled out the institution’s giant strides under his watch to include completion of ultra modern 4-classroom block tastefully furnished for school of early childhood-care and primary education, construction/furnishing of a 4- classroom block with offices for school of adult education as well as furnishing of a multi-purpose Pavilion.

The provost said his management had also constructed and equipped the technical education workshop with offices at Bebi campus which, he said, would facilitate high standard of learning/teaching.

Ejue further said he had also installed a power generating plants, purchase office furniture/equipment, computers, as well as made available to the institution a 14-seater bus and a solar
street light.
