Minister Designate and Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, has described Governor Kayode Fayemi’s loss in Saturday’s governorship poll as the beginning of the end of All Progressives Congress (APC) in South-west.
Adeyeye, who attributed Governor Kayode Fayemi lost in the governorship election to a disconnect with the people of the state, stated that Fayose’s victory was inevitable, because the people wanted a change, “they made up their mind two years ago”.
Speaking in Ise Ekiti yesterday, Adeyeye commended Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for doing Nigerians proud, saying the commission has proved that it can to handle electoral issues on behalf of the people.
Adeyeye noted that APC cannot in the real sense be described as progressive party, because the party’s policies are anti-people, unlike the PDP which is masses-oriented.
Adeyeye, who expressed happiness that the PDP did not disappoint President Goodluck Jonathan, vowed that the victory of former Governor Fayose would reverberate in Osun during the August 9, governorship election.
“Fayose should be the happiest man in the world. He was humiliated out of office in 2006, but today God has catapulted him from the abyss to the mountain top. This is a second chance for him and our God is a God of second chance”.
