A multi-million naira edifice in Kano belonging to the late Head of State, Gen. Sani Abacha, has been abandoned by his family who relocated to Abuja since the attack on Zainab Sani Abacha, two years ago.
When our correspondent visited the no. 8B Gidado Road home of the Abachas on Wednesday, it was deserted except for three soldiers guarding it.

A source said the place had been empty for some time now with most of the fittings in the house like air conditioners already rotting away.
Blueprint reports that usually in June each year, friends and associates of the late general assembled in the house to pray for him, but this year the death of Ado Bayero and appointment of Sanusi Lamido Sanusi on June 8, overshadowed the event.
Last year, when the late emir granted an interview to newsmen to mark his 50 years on the throne, he did say that his only regret was that during his tenure, as the Emir of Kano, two Heads of State from Kano, Murtala Mohammed and Sani Abacha.
