Nigeria’s U-20 women national team, the Falconets, will tomorrow depart Abuja for Accra Ghana for an international friendly against the Black Princess.
The Falconets will play two matches on Friday and Sunday as part of friendlies to prepare the team for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup slated for August in Canada.
Head coach, Peter Dedevbo, says 22 players have been listed to play the two matches.
“I need to give all players the opportunity to showcase their skills and seek a place in the final list for Canada, especially the new players”.
Dedevbo said the girls were physically and mental fit to take on the Ghanaian side, promising a better outing for Nigeria.
“I take this match not just as a friendly, but as an opportunity to prove the superiority of the Falconets in the continent,” he said.
Team captain, Patience Okaeme, said they were going to fight hard to win the two matches.
“We will not come back empty handed,” she assured.
Ghana and Nigeria are the two countries to represent the continent in the 7th edition of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Finals.
The Falconets are expected back on Monday.
