Ex-Rep, supporters defect to APC in Kano

Former member of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Lawan Shehu, and his supporters have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Th e former federal lawmaker, who represented representing Bichi federal constituency, defected at a colourful ceremony attended by governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and notable top government functionaries, over the weekend.
Th e governor said the decamping of the Alhaji Shehu was a blessing to his constituents and the party adding that it would further ginger the party to be committed to providing and sustaining democratic dividends under President Muhammadu Buhari administration.
He noted that the giant strides of the Buhari administration were enough to convince every Nigerian that voting APC to power was no exercise in futility.
He hoped the defection would inspire others to tread the same path as an acknowledgement of the APC’s growing status and accomplishment since it assumed power two years ago.
In his remarks, the former legislator said his defection to the APC was informed by the good governance of governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje adding that his determination is help improve the living condition of the people of Kano State.
