Ex-rep, other APC members defect to SDP in Jigawa

A former member of the House of Representatives, Abba Anas Adama, and thousands of other All Progressives Congress (APC) members yesterday defected to the Social Democratic Party in Jigawa State. Adama, who represented Birniwa, Kirikasamma and Guri federal constituency, said they decided to defect from the APC to the SDP because the ruling party lacks internal democracy and thrives only on false propaganda.
“The activities of the APC are of false propaganda and basically more of one man show because anybody that is not answerable to the state executive cannot be allowed to have a say or contribute under whatever circumstance.
The recently conducted wards and local government congresses clearly showed how the APC lacks internal democracy, is not an allinclusive administration because all those purported to be in bad list of the state executive were sidelined”, he said. Among the members that may also defect from the APC are Honourable Bashir Adams Jumbo, former member of the House of Representative from Kazaure federal constituency and some aggrieved candidates in the just concluded ward and council congress polls. It could be recalled that same people defected from People’s Democratic Party (PDP) late 2015 to APC.
When contacted the Special Adviser to Governor Badaru on Media, Bello Zaki, said such action was expected to happened earlier than now. He said the reason that made them leave PDP was the same reason that led to their defection.
