Ex-LP chieftain commends Tinubu, Uba Sani for federal varsity in Southern Kaduna

A former Labour Party chieftain and chairman of Nom Bajju 2025, Engr. Michael Ayuba Auta, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kaduna state Governor, Senator Uba Sani, for their roles in establishing a federal university in Southern Kaduna.

Speaking as Chairman of the 2025 Nom Bajju Cultural Festival in Kaduna state, Auta described the university’s establishment as a significant milestone in enhancing education and fostering unity in the region.

He lauded the administrations of President Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and Governor Uba Sani, noting that their governance demonstrates a commitment to inclusivity, transcending political and regional biases.

Auta said, “Your unrelenting doggedness and calm nature in uniting the people across all faiths, irrespective of tribe or party affiliation, has endeared you to many, especially the people of Southern Kaduna.”

Auta, who was the Labour Party senatorial candidate for Southern Kaduna in the 2023 general elections, also acknowledged the contributions of Senator Sunday Marshall Katung of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) towards the project’s realization.

He paid tribute to past leaders whose efforts laid the foundation for the region’s progress, including the late Senator Isaiah Balat, Colonel Nyan, Ali Madaki, former Governor Patrick Yakowa, late II Iko, General Luka Bako, former Deputy Governor Stephen Shekari, and late former Deputy Governor Barnabas Bala Bantex.

“These pillars gave us the breath of a democratic legacy that we are all standing on today,” Auta said.

He also recognized Bishop Matthew Kukah for his advocacy for unity and education, which he credited as instrumental to the university’s establishment. Auta further appreciated the contributions of the immediate past Senator of Southern Kaduna, Senator Danjuma Tella La’ah.

He urged all stakeholders to collaborate to ensure the institution thrives and serves future generations effectively.
