Ex-gov Makarfi’s late father was man of sterling leadership qualities – El-Rufai

Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna state has condoled with former Kaduna state governor, Sen. Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi over the death of his father, Malam Mohammed Na’iya Makarfi, describing the late monarch as a champion of peace.

Malam Na’iya Makarfi died on Tuesday and was buried same day according to Islamic rites.

Governor el-Rufai, while condoling with the former national caretaker chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), described the late Makarfi as a man with abundant sterling leadership qualities who served humanity and championed the cause of peace.

A government statement signed by the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan prayed Allah to forgive the deceased and grant him a place in Jannatul Firdausi.

“The Kaduna state government has condoled the former governor of the state, Senator Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi over the demise of his father, Malam Mohammed Na’iya Makarfi.

“The Governor of Kaduna state, Malam Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai, on behalf of the government and people of the state, condoles our former Governor, Senator Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi and the entire family of Malam Mohammed Na’iya Makarfi over the death of their patriarch.

“The deceased was a statesman with abundant sterling leadership qualities who served humanity and championed the cause of peace as a traditional ruler. May Allah grant his soul Aljannah Firdausi. Ameen,” Aruwan added.
