Ex-AMAC scribe Gwagwa defects to APC

A former Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) Secretary, Hon. Suleiman Al-Hassan Gwagwa, has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC) at a mammoth rally held in his Gwagwa ward of the Council.
The politician, who led over 2, 000 PDP members from the ward to APC, said they were motivated by the development strides of the Chairman of AMAC, Hon. Abdullahi Adamu Candido, in the last two years. He said his coming to the party “at this time around” was to boost the electoral strength of the APC in Gwagwa ward. He, however, promised to work hard with other party stakeholders to deliver the ward for the party in the next year elections.
Receiving the defectors, the AMAC APC Chairman, Alhaji Abass Baba, described Gwagway as “a formidable grassroots mobiliser,” whose membership of the APC “will add value to the party in his Gwagwa ward.” He assured that all the defectors “will be treated equally with other members of the party” as they would not be referred to as new members for consideration of things. The AMAC chairman, Candido, who also acknowledged the “political worth of Hon. Suleiman,” expressed confident that his entrance to the party would be of immense value to the party in the area council. Our correspondent reports that those in attendance were Senator Jubrin Wowo; Hon. Musa Tanko Abari; Mrs. Hailmary Aipoh, FCT state Women Leader and Hajia Jemilah Sarkin, Chairperson of Kokona local government area of Nasarawa state.
