Ex-AIG Ali Jos dies at 78

A former Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Alhaji Hamisu Ali Jos is dead. The ex-AIG’s death occurred early Tuesday at a medical hospital in far away India, a family source has conformed.

The younger brother to late Ali Jos, Hon. Hamza Ali, confirmed the death to our correspondent via mobile phone.

“From Allah we are and unto Him we shall return. Our elder brother, former AIG Hamisu Ali has reached his time, after protracted illness in a hospital at India where he was receiving treatment since December 2019,” he stated.

Late Hamisu Ali Jos was a retired Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) serving in Zone 2 in 1999. He was a Commissioner of Police, Katsina state police command.

Late Ali Jos had also served as Katsina State Administrator (Governor) under late General Sani Abacha-led military regime.

The family source, Hamza Ali, said late Ali Jos died at the age of 78 and left behind one wife and six children, saying burial arrangement will be announced later.
