Pastor Evelyn TB Joshua, wife of the late Prophet TB Joshua and Lead Pastor of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), has commiserated with widows, stating that as a widow herself, she understands their challenges, urging them to hold unto God the giver of life.
She made these remarks Tuesday in Abuja at the Christ Foundation Orphanage Home in Kuje, during her birthday celebration (December 17) organized by the Emmanuel TV Partners Abuja Chapter.
The event brought together widows, orphans, and the less privileged.
Reflecting the mission and legacy of SCOAN’s ministry, Pastor Evelyn encouraged attendees to remain steadfast in their faith.
“Hold on to God, and He will hold on to you,” she said, reaffirming her commitment to touching lives and spreading love.
The serene grounds of the orphanage home came alive with joy and thanksgiving as she celebrated her birthday in a unique and heartwarming way, donating cash gifts, food items, clothes, and other essentials.
“People of God, I am happy to be here today. Thank you for coming this afternoon because I am overwhelmed. My words are going to be few this afternoon, but first, I want to thank you for coming.
“It is my birthday. I am here today to meet a team here in Abuja—God’s children, who have a heart for God. When it comes to the things of God, they are willing to go to places. I pray you will grow physically and spiritually and represent God Almighty in everything you do,” she said.
Earlier, the Coordinator of the Emmanuel TV Partners Abuja Chapter, Mrs. Ogechi Tagbo, explained that the birthday celebration was a way to appreciate Pastor Evelyn for carrying on the legacy of the late Prophet TB Joshua.
She noted that bringing Pastor Evelyn from Lagos to Abuja was meant to show the less privileged her care and compassion.
“By the special grace of God, it is the celebration of our beloved mummy, the pastor of the Synagogue Church of All Nations. She is full of inspiration, wisdom, and great faith, carrying on the legacy of our daddy in the Lord, the late Prophet TB Joshua.
“This ministry is about changing lives, changing nations, and changing the world. What you see today is a testament to that mission,” she said.
Tagbo also highlighted that more than 500 widows and orphans received various gifts, including food items and other essentials, a gesture that deeply moved many.
“This is the third time we are doing this in Abuja this year. It’s part of our ministry’s global outreach, demonstrating the love of God and giving back to society,” she added.
The founder of the Christ Foundation Orphanage Home, Evangelist Patricia Agu, expressed her profound gratitude and used the occasion to advocate for greater government support.
“This visit is like open heaven for the orphans, widows, and disabled that have come here today. We are all over-blessed, and we pray that the Lord blesses her, elevates her, and prospers her children and congregation.”
“If one woman can do so much for widows and orphans, how much more can the government do? These are citizens of Nigeria, and they are suffering. The government should please look after them, especially orphans and widows,” she urged.
For the widows present, the event was nothing short of divine intervention.
One of the beneficiaries, Gloria Joshua, representing the Gbagyi Widows group, praised Pastor Evelyn’s generosity and kindness. “We are very, very grateful. She has put smiles on our faces and food on our tables. May God continue to bless her and elevate her in all she does.”
Another beneficiary, Glory Mark, reflected on the impact of the visit. “We used to see her on television, but today we are happy to see her physically. God has truly used her to make our Christmas memorable,” she said.
The event also coincided with the 20th anniversary of the Christ Foundation Orphanage Home, which currently houses 33 children. Evangelist Agu shared some of the challenges faced by the orphanage, including the need for food and funds for school fees. “We are appealing for more support to continue caring for these children and widows,” she said.
