The local equity market on Friday sustained a growth profile, appreciating by N247 billion as bulls continue to dominate trading activities on the second day of trading.
The market capitalisation of listed equities increased by 0.39 per cent to N63.165 trillion from N62.918 trillion reported the previous day.
The NGX All Share Index also appreciated by 406.19 basis points to 103586.33 points from 103180.14 points it closed on Thursday with 11, 752 deals.
The positive performance recorded during the day was driven by gains in small and medium stocks including Afri Prudential, AccessCorp, Eterna Plc, Livestock Feeds, Royal Express, Regal Insurance, PZ Cusson, NCR, Chams and 58 other firms.
As a result year-to-date return went up to 0.64 per cent as 11 firms closed in red against 67 companies that took positive direction.
An analysis of the investment showed that the NGX trading on Friday showed that eight companies recorded 10 per cent growth during the day.
Chams Plc Omatek and Learn Africa gained 10 per cent to close at N2.31, N0.88 and 4.95 per cent respectively. Regal Insurance and NCR also appreciated by 10 per cent to close respectively at N0.88 and N6.05 per unit.
On the contrary, Total topped losers chart, dropping by 9.74 per cent to close at N6.30 per share, CWG trailed with a loss of 6.04 per cent to close at N7.00 Thomas Way down by 5.26 per cent to close at N1.80 per unit, ABC Transport fell by 4.07 per cent to close at N1.18 per unit, UACN declined by 3.19 per cent to close at N31.90 per unit.
