Equity market remains bullish, gains N215bn

Domestic equity market on Wednesday closed northward, appreciating by N215 billion .

The  positive performance recorded at the end of the day was primarily driven by investors’ interest in stocks such as AccessCorp, SCOA Plc,  FBNHoldings, AccessCorp, infinity Savings, Zenith and 28 others which placed  All Share Index in green terrain.

Consequently, the year to date gain returned surged to 41.07 per cent while the overall 

market capitalization of listed equities increased by 0.55 per cent as investors wealth grew by N215 billion to N39.563 trillion from N39.348 trillion it closed on Tuesday.

The NGX All Share Index also appreciated by 382.53 basis points to 72299.79 points  from 71907.26 points reported the previous day.

The NGX trading result showed 34 companies closed in green while 16 firms took negative trend.

An analysis of the Investment showed that SCOA Plc led gainers table in percentage terms, gaining 9.88 per cent to close at N1.78 per share, Infinity Savings followed with a gain of 9.86 per cent to close at N2.34 per share, AccessCorp added 8.09 per cent to close at N22.05 per unit, Cornerstone Insurance gained 7.41 per cent to close at N1.45 per unit, Transco Hotel up by 6.83 per cent to close at N46.90 per unit.

On the contrary,  UPL topped losers chart, dropping by 9.82 per cent to close at N2.48 per share, SUNU Assurance trailed with a loss of 9.38 per cent to close at N1.16 per unit, Eterna Plc declined by 8.03 per cent to close at N11.45 per share, Flour Mills Nigeria Plc dipped by 4.57 per cent to close at N30.30 per unit, Chams Plc sheds 4.04 per cent to N1.90 per share.
