Equity market gains N199bn

Transactions on the floor of Nigerian Stock Exchänge yesterday sustained growth profile, appreciating by N199 billion.

Specifically, Market Capitalisation of listed equities increased by 1.09 per cent to N18.410 trillion from N18.211 trillion traded on Monday.

The NSE All Share Index also appreciates by 381.78 basis points to 35225.44 points from 34843.44 points traded on the previous day.

Investors exchanged 264.241 million shares valued at N2.947 billion in 4354 deals against 208.094 million shares valued at N3.700 billion in 4154 deals.

A review of the investment showed that Dangote Cement led gainers table during the day, appreciating by N7.00 to close at N195.00. Wapco trailed with a loss of N1.50 kobo to close at N22.50 kobo, Zenith Bank gained N0.90 kobo to close at N23.50 kobo, Guaranty Trust Bank added N0.55 kobo to close at 33.55 kobo, Guinness Nigeria Plc increased by N0.35 kobo to close at N18.00.

On the contrary, Vanleer recorded the highest loss during the day, shedding N0.90 kobo to close at N8.20 kobo, Redstarex trailed with a loss of N0.33 kobo to close at N3.05 kobo, International Breweries fell by N0.20 kobo to close at N6.27 kobo, FCMB down by N0.15 kobo to close at N2.87 kobo, Ardova Plc dipped by N0.15 kobo to close at N12.05 kobo.
