Equity market gains N176bn

Trading activities on the fl oor of Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) yesterday opened the week on a bullish trend, gaining 176 billion.
Specifically, market capitalisation of listed equities increased by 1.41 per cent to N12.678 trillion from N12.502 trillion traded last Friday.
Also the NSE All Share Index went up by 511.00basis points to 3683193 points from36320.93 traded preciously.
Investors for the day exchanged 262.167 million shares worth N2.996 billion in 4283 deals against 367.
068 million shares valued at N3.743 billion exchanged hands in 3773 deals.

An analysis of the investment showed that Total Nigeria Plc led gainers table during the day, gaining N12.00 to close at N253.00, Nestle Nigeria Plc followed with a gain of N7.05 kobo to close at N1230.00, Dangote Cement appreciated by N6.39 kobo to close at N224.00, International Breweries added N1.90 kobo to close at N39.90 kobo and Guaranty Trust Bank gained N1.32 kobo to close at N42.02 kobo. Lafarge Wapco recorded the highest loss for the shedding N0.
42 kobo to close at N56.89 kobo, Cadbury Nigeria Plc trailed with a loss of N0.33 kobo to close at N10.00, PZ Industries declined by N0.31 kobo to close at N23.24 kobo, Dangote Sugar Refi nery Nigeria Plc down by N0.18 kobo to close at N13.80 kobo while Presco Plc depreciated by N0.17 kobo to close at N67.83 kobo.
Father analysis indicated that Diamond Bank of the banking industry was most active during the day exchanging 76.252 million shares worth N80.287 million, Access Bank followed with account of 28.136 million shares valued at N275.719 million, Zenith International Bank traded 23.668 million shares cost N594.973 million, FBNHoldings exchanged 15.723 million shares valued at N95.328 million and Transnational Corporation of Nigeria sold 13.441 million shares worth N18.093 million
