Equity market continues slide,  sheds N730bn

 The domestic equity market yesterday closed in negative trend, declining by N730 billion l as depreciation in the shares of BuaCement, Unilever Nigeria Plc, FBNHoldings and others impacted on the market.

Specifically, market capitalisation of listed equities declined by N730 billion to N55.298 trillion from N56.028 trillion reported the previous day.

The NGX All Share Index also depreciated by 1332.56 basis points to 101060.67 points from 102393.23 points reported on Monday.

An analysis of the Investment showed that Juli led gainers table during the day, gaining 9.94 per cent to close at N1.77 per share, Eterna Plc followed with a gain of 6.17 per cent to close at N17.20 per share, Veritas Kapital gained 5.97 per cent to close at N0.71 per unit, Geregu Power increased by 3.68 per cent to close at N985.00 while Tantalizer added 2.63 per cent to close at N0.39 per unit.

On the contrary, Honey Flour Mills topped losers chart dropping by 10 per cent to close at N3.60 per unit, BuaCement trailed with a loss of 9.98 per cent to close at N142.95 per unit, PZ Cusson down by 9.75 per cent to close at N27.30 per unit, UPDC REIT fell by 9.32 per cent to close at N5.35 per unit, NEM Insurance dipped by 8.63 per cent to close at N6.35 per unit.
