The exercise, which is a 12-day intensive training aimed at training artisans who had been embarking on manual electrical works on heavy duty vehicles such as trailers, tippers and buses, took off on May 15 to culminate in May 26, 2023.

Speaking at the flag off of the training programme taking place at Chibueze Motors, Enugu, South zonal coordinator of NADDC, Mrs Edith C. Oleribe, charged the participants to be serious with their training to enhance their business at the long run.

Oleribe, who represented NADDC Director General, Engr. Jelani Aliyu, said the Council was desirous to ensure that the assembly production of vehicles in Nigeria grows and becomes sustainable, hence the training.

According to her, “The plan is also to understand prevailing automotive advanced technologies and work towards adopting them and promoting their development and usage and sustainability in Nigeria.”

The zonal coordinator, while encouraging the participants to take their training serious, in spite of the starter packs they would get at the end of the training to enhance their operations, said that they were fortunate to have been selected among others to be part of modern auto electronic training.

“I wish to congratulate you for coming this far and being present in this hall among many others who may have aspired to be here.  May I assure you that you will go home informed,” she urged.

Also addressing the participants, the Managing Director of Chibueze Motors, Engr. Friday Chibueze Okoro, who also is a facilitator of the programme, urged the participants to see the training as their gateway to a better future and sustenance of the auto industry in Nigeria.

“Count yourselves fortunate that you are part of this training programme, because many would have liked to join but they could not.  I encourage you to take the training serious because you will reap the benefits in future.

“It may seem painful that you left your workshops to be here but I assure you that tomorrow, you will appreciate the sacrifice you are making today,” he admonished.
