The traditional ruler of Obuofia-Awkunanaw, Nkanu West local government area of Enugu state, His Royal Highness, Dr. Felix Nwobodoani, has commended Amb. Dr. Ikechukwu Odo, Managing Director, Meridien Hospital, Portharcourt, for providing his community with seven boreholes to solve their water needs.
Igwe Nwobodoani who made the commendation during the official commissioning of the boreholes, appreciated God for blessing Ndiagu in particular, Obuofia and Enugu state in general for giving them a person like Dr. Odo.
“I thank God for blessing Ndiagu-Obuofia and Enugu State in general with somebody like you because your giant strides in the area of human empowerment, education and infrastructure deserve a path on the back and reward for unflinching love for your community and humanity at large,” he said.
“This commissioning is indeed another opportunity to celebrate your many contributions to Obuofia Awkunanaw,” he continued.
The royal father therefore felicitated with the philantropist, Amb. Odo, management and staff of Meridien Hospital and prayed God to grant him long life, good health, wisdom and all it takes to continue to lead the community on the path of excellence, peace and development.
“While I wish you the best in all your endeavours, please accept the assurance of my highiest regards and best wishes for this memorable commissioning,” Igwe said and also lauded Gov. Peter Mbah for his strides in infrastructure development, peace and harmony in the state.
The traditional ruler however used the opportunity to appeal to the governor to help in rehabilitating the deplorable road to the College Hospital and the Health Centre, pointing out that there is no resident doctor in the hospital and therefore sued the governor to send a doctor to them.
The representative of Gov. Mbah at the occasion, Felix Nnamani, promised to deliver the message to the governor and praised the donour of the boreholes for his kind gesture to his community.
He also called on other philantropists to emulate him.
